W2P monitored for a year the exceptional site of the renovation of hydroelectric power plant number 1 of the Bort-les-Orgues dam, a rare engineering project due to its scale and complexity. From February to October 2024, the EDF teams — maintenance and operations — orchestrated a spectacular dismantling: removal of the machine head components, interventions at the pivot level, extraction of the 430-ton rotor, dismantling of the bottom valve… up to the most delicate operation: the safe removal of a lens weighing over 60 tons, a true giant "tap" of the system. Our documentary dives into the heart of this extraordinary site, revealing the technical gestures, expertise, and coordination required to successfully carry out such an operation.
